Creating content is hard enough without the added anxiety of the camera.
It’s a universal feeling. We’ll help you focus on the value you provide, not the perceived imperfections.
Microphones, lighting, editing software… We cut through the noise with simplified setups.
Authenticity builds far more trust than a slick, over-produced corporate video ever will.
Michael Hele is the Founder of Reluctant Creators and Principal of AMD Creative Marketing, a full-service digital consultancy based in Birmingham. He began building websites in 1996 — before Google existed, before social media, and long before most businesses had accepted the internet as anything more than a curiosity.
He established AMD Web Design in 2003 and became an early adopter of responsive design, SEO-first architecture, and video marketing — integrating each into client strategies well before they became industry standards. In 2012 he added video production to his services, and it was the recurring conversations with talented but camera-shy business owners that inspired Reluctant Creators: a practical resource for entrepreneurs who know they should be on camera, but are not quite sure how to begin.
Michael combines technical rigour with straightforward, results-focused strategy. His belief is simple: the best content is the content people actually make.
Online video has moved from “nice to have” to a fundamental channel for discovery, trust, and conversion. The data is unambiguous.
Live video, in particular, is proving to be a significant trust accelerator. Audiences respond to the unedited, unscripted nature of a live broadcast in ways that polished promotional content simply cannot replicate. When a business owner appears live — answering questions in real time or demonstrating products — they build credibility at a pace that text or even edited video rarely matches.
As AI-generated content becomes more widespread, authenticity is becoming a competitive advantage. The human voice on camera carries more weight than ever, and businesses that invest in genuine, consistent video presence will stand apart from those that do not.
